Summer 2025 SIC Code Update

As part of our semi-annual platform maintenance we have updated our categorizations to reflect recent updates made to the SIC code tables.

We are sharing because we occasionally get traders asking about how we organize our categories and which stocks are in each. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system uses four-digit codes to categorize businesses by their primary economic activity. These codes are structured hierarchically, with the first two digits representing a broad industry group, and the remaining digits refining the classification further.

Most classifications are intuitive. Some placements are influenced by traders interest in being able to filter out specific categories (e.g. ETF's and SPACs).
